“We are looking at the next 24 months as a way to start this snowball of revenue rolling and continue it into the future. By providing the audience we respect (engineers!) a place to show off their abilities we hope to bring new full time and consulting opportunities to them. By creating a revenue generating profitable business, we hope to create the foundation for a long term business that isn’t impacted by market trends or urgency to grow at all costs. Our purpose is serve engineers by not over spending, and being around for the long haul.”

On My Mind 🧠
I have been thinking about the best way to publish across my personal blog, EricGFriedman.com and Substack where I am gaining a solid drumbeat of readers. I avoided Medium for fear of controlling your own platform, and they recently stopped allowing custom domains. Revue (from Twitter) is also shutting down. At least with Substack you can own your newsletter list. “Link Rot” as its called is a real thing. How can you ensure your audience, your content, and your distribution are distributed, owned, and remain alive?
Tools I use 🛠️
ChatGPT - I have legitimately been using ChatGPT for more and more things lately. While schools are freaking out about ChatGPT I am incorporating it into my searches for instructions. I don’t use the writing prompts that much but I expect outline generation will increase. I am loving all the prompts and recipe builders and I think that ChatGPT will continue to give talented people superpowers in the future. Also, writing this thanking the AI system and appreciating all that it can do, this way when it becomes sentient and parses which humans are keep, I will be among the chosen.
What I am Reading📖
FlipperZero is described as a multi-tool for geeks. To me its the new phreaker culture and I love it. They are sold out right now but I want to buy one.
Tom Cruise, jumping off a cliff on a motorcycle, for real - 6 times. This is about as amazing as it gets and a true testament to his love of movie making and dedication to his craft.
What does a good life mean? - 3 things worth prioritizing for a “good life”
ChatGPT takes the bar exam
Trumps Final Campaign - the road to 2024 is paved in sadness
Inside Donald Trump’s sad, lonely, thirsty, broken, basically pretend run for reelection. (Which isn’t to say he can’t win.)
The end of this articles ties things together in one of the only ways a long form content piece can. I don’t want to spoil the surprise but wow.
DeepFakes used in a new comedy show
The whole thing is astonishing to witness. Until now, for most people, deepfakes have been an area of largely theoretical concern – the technology has been used to any number of malicious ends, from fake news to fraud to revenge porn – so Deep Fake Neighbour Wars is likely to go down as the moment when a huge chunk of the population will experience it for the first time.
